Baby Talk Coffee Mornings
We hold regular friendly and welcoming Coffee Mornings for pregnant women, new parents, grandparents, carers and, of course, babies. Come along for support, friendship and a chat.
Everyone is welcome - are you going through a difficult time with your baby and haven't had time to change your clothes for a week? We don't mind - come and tell us about it! Have you questions about feeding your baby? Breastfeeding, formula or weaning - we can help! Do you need to moan about lack of sleep? Are you confused about the latest baby gadget doing the rounds on facebook? We don't have all the answers but we can support you to find yours.
The venue for our Coffee Afternoons is St Aidens Church Community hall, Princes Road, Brunton Park, Gosforth, NE3 5NF.
No need to book, just drop in — entry is £2 per adult which includes refreshments and cake!
Coffee Mornings date in 2020:
Unfortunately, owing to the Coronavirus pandemic all our coffee mornings and our Christmas party are cancelled this year.
We are very sad and sorry not to be able to offer this additional support, or to enjoy spending time with you and your babies.
Facebook Group - Antenatal and Postnatal Education and Support North East
This group was set up by Linzy Thirlaway our Antenatal practitioner, Ruth Olayinka our Hypnobirthing practitioner, and Caireen Hart our Yoga teacher. Many birthworkers and midwives from across the region have contributed videos, information and advice to the group in the hope of supporting pregnant families during the pandemic.
The facebook group has been mentioned on Radio Newcastle, Look North and BBC Radio 4s Woman's Hour.
The group has steadily grown in membership with members now contributing birth stories and their experiences of being pregnant, going into labour and their postnatal time in the various hospitals and trusts throughout the region.
You must answer the three questions on the page when you join. The videos are all in the Units section which you can see at the top right of the page.
Sadly these regular events have been cancelled for 2020.
