Yoga for Pregnancy

Wednesdays 7.00-8.00pm at Great Park Community Centre, Roseden Way, Gosforth, NE13 9DB. Term time only.

Yoga provides a range of physical and emotional benefits that can enhance and lighten the experience of pregnancy and birth. Regular practice gives you a strong sense of awareness of your changing body and enables you to connect with your growing baby. Yoga can also ease some of the aches and discomforts that may occur in pregnancy. Practicing yoga during pregnancy has been shown to reduce the risk of developing anxiety and postnatal depression.
The classes are designed to promote well-being throughout your pregnancy and help you prepare in mind and body for giving birth. Each class will include a gentle warm up, flowing movement and stretches combined with breath work, and a deep relaxation.
Suitable from the 16th week of pregnancy. No prior knowledge of yoga is needed.
