Active Birth Yoga

The Active Birth Yoga Workshop is designed to promote well-being in pregnancy and to support women to feel resourced for labour and birth.

The classes include:

  • learning complete breathing
  • a flowing, gentle warm-up
  • Hatha yoga postures to promote being soft and resilient and grounded
  • working with a sense of gravity
  • using alignment and tension release to support a sense of well-being
  • relaxation
  • some antenatal advice

About...

Lynn is committed to working with pregnant women to offer them a space to feel supported and relaxed and tuned in to the wisdom of their bodies in motion.

Lynn has trained with the Active Birth Centre, The NCT, The School of Movement Medicine, she has an MA in movement psychotherapy from the Laban Centre and recently trained with Uma Dismore Tuli on her womb yoga course.

Lynn runs Musical Bumps at the Sage, Gateshead, and post-natal yoga classes at Dance City. Together with Mandy Snee she provides workshops such as Yoga and Lullabies for Pregnancy, Belly Dancing for Pregnancy, and Dance and Movement Meditations for Pregnancy.

Postnatal Yoga works on building core strength and balancing, restorative yoga. Sessions can focus on deep relaxation and post natal recovery as well as reviewing the birth.

Active Birth Yoga classes run in 4 week blocks which must be booked in advance.

  • RVI Hospital 21st and 28th March and 4th and 11th April 7.00pm-8.30pm
  • Dance City 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th March 2.00pm-3.00pm
  • Dance City 11th, 18th, 25th May and 1st June 2.00pm-3.30pm

 

Lynn can be available for bespoke sessions in your home for you/you and your partner or for a small group - prices start at £50 for a 1.5 hour session. These classes are for pregnancy and/or the postnatal year - The session can be negotiated to meet your unique needs so can include personal yoga, information or discussing fears, choices and birth plans.
